Adventure awaits when you visit Folkestone, Hythe, Romney Marsh and the North Downs...
Whether you want to try something new or hone your skills, there are plenty of options on land or on the water. Harness the wind with a spot of kite surfing, or take to the slopes for some dry slope skiing or, if you're looking for something a bit more sedate, golf and swimming are also available locally.
With miles of coastline, The North Downs Way and The Royal Military Canal, the options for walking and cycling are numerous with routes for every age and level of fitness.
Water based activities abound: Folkestone Sea Sports offer sea based activities, Action Watersports in Lydd use a fresh water sheltered lake to teach various water sports, and the swimming pools in Hythe and Folkestone are available for those rainy days.
Canoeing and Kayaking is available on the Royal Military Canal in Hythe, or if you feel like something more sedate, hire a rowing boat or take one of the Electric Boat trips on offer.
If you'd rather stay on dry land, how about a karting session at Lydd Kart Circuit?
For something a bit different, why not try the Folkestone Sports Centre and give dry slope skiing or snowboarding a go? The are also snow tubes and swizzbobs available for some fantastic family fun. Indoor activities such as table tennis, badminton and even curling are on offer for rainy day fun!
And if the sun is shining, Folkestone boasts the largest free, open-air adventure playground in the south east at the Lower Leas Coastal Park - perfect if your little ones need to let off steam. There are also beautiful parks and gardens right across the district, including Kingsnorth Gardens and Radnor Park in Folkestone, Brockhill Country Park near Hythe or the nature reserve and beautiful open spaces of the Romney Marsh.
